FAQ

Our designer special ordered wedding dresses are priced from $1,200 -$6,000. Plus, select sample wedding dresses in inventory are available for purchase starting at $1000. We encourage you to refer to our “Designer” page in order to best understand the price ranges of each designer before your appointment. Our wedding dress samples range from size 6-26, but please note that your wedding dress can be ordered up to a size 32, depending on the designer. We also have access to the entire collection of wedding dresses from each designer if you are seeking a specific wedding dress.

SHOPPING

1. Why do I need to make an appointment to try on wedding gowns?

In order to give you the full attention of our experienced consultants and the full Mélange Bridal experience, appointments are necessary especially on weekends and are recommended for brides who are on the serious hunt and ready to purchase their gown.

2. Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes. Our store is by appointment only, but you are more than welcome to walk in and view our collections. Without an appointment there is no guarantee you will be able to try on gowns.

3. What is the best way to make an appointment?

The best way to make an appointment is to click on the “Request an Appointment” button on our website. Once you fill out our bridal form we will call you back with our availability for the dates requested. Please allow 24-48 hours to receive a reply to your request. Remember that we are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

4. How long are appointments?

Depending on type of the appointment that you pick, they may run 1 hour up to 1 1/2 hours long. During sales and events appointments are 45 minutes long.

5. How many wedding dresses will I be able to try on during my appointment?

Usually brides are able to try on about 6-9 gowns during their appointment depending on their speed and decisiveness.

6. How should I prepare for my bridal appointment?

We recommend you bring pictures of wedding dresses you have seen on our website or that you have tried on elsewhere and bring an open mind. Many of our brides select a wedding dress that they have never seen or tired on before. Also, don’t be surprised if you find “THE DRESS” on your first visit to Mélange Bridal. Pro-tip: it is best to wear white or nude undergarments to your bridal appointment.

7. May I take pictures of the gowns while I am trying them on?

We do not allow photos while you are shopping in the salon. We will allow you to take photos of your favorite wedding dress.

8. What happens if I don’t find “The Dress” on my first visit?

We offer comeback appointments! Follow up bridal appointments are usually 30 minutes long or you may request a full appointment if you want to try on more gowns.

9. Can I complete my entire look in one appointment?

Absolutely! Not only do many brides find their wedding dress on their first visit to our salon, but they also find all their accessories (veils, headpieces, jewelry, etc.) on their first visit.

10. Do I need to make an appointment to look at accessories?

Preferably yes, but you are more than welcome to walk in and view our collections and we may be able to help you.

11. Can I bring champagne?

Yes, but we recommend that you schedule one of our VIP appointments.

12. Do you take second-hand dresses or do consignment?

No, we do not buy second-hand dresses or do consignment at our salon.

13. Do you offer alterations?

Melange Bridal does not offer in-house alterations but we do we have an info sheet to help you find perfect seamstress.

14. Once my wedding has come and gone, what do I do with my gown?

We offer wedding dress cleaning and preservation services through a professional wedding dress preservation company.

BUYING

1. How far in advance do I need to buy my wedding gown?

It is best to allow 8-10 months before your wedding to order a gown. Some of our designers have gowns available for immediate shipping here in USA, or the gown can be purchased from our store selection. Don’t forget to add 2-3 months for alterations!

2. How far in advance do I need to buy my mother of the bride and groom dress?

It is best to allow 4 months before to order a gown. Don’t forget to add 8 weeks for alterations!

3. What is a special-order gown?

Most of the gowns we sell are special-order. The designer uses their pattern based on a size chart that is closest to your measurements to create your gown. We then alter it to perfection for your body.

4. Can I buy mother's or wedding gown from inventory?

YES. A majority of our gowns are available for purchase from inventory.

5. Are alterations included in the cost of a gown?

NO. Alterations are an additional cost and are NOT included in the price of a gown.

6. How do I pay for my gown?

We accept most major credit cards, as well as cash and personal checks (Personal checks are only accepted for deposit, not final payment. We do not accept checks for items purchased from inventory).

7. Do you have payment plans?

You have the option to pay for your gown in full or you may put down a 60% deposit to order the gown. Once the gown arrives, you will have 7 days to pay off your balance. Gowns may take 4-8 months to arrive, so this option allows some time to pay off your gown.

8. When should I expect to receive my gown?

The dress is delivered to our store directly from the designer. Typical production time is anywhere from 4-10 months based on the designer and the country of origin. Once your gown arrives, we will send you an email and/or text message to schedule a try on and pick up appointment.
